Tyus Jones is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on May 10, 1996 in Apple Valley, Minnesota. Jones attended Apple Valley High School where he was a highly ranked high school basketball player. He then committed to play college basketball at Duke University. In his one season at Duke, Jones won the NCAA Championship, was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player and earned first-team All-ACC honors. He was selected 24th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA draft but was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night. He played for the Timberwolves for four seasons before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019.
