June 21, 1999: Down 2-0 in the NBA Finals, the 8th-seeded New York Knicks held serve on their homecourt, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 89-81 in front of a raucous crowd at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks were led by their two dynamic wings, as Allan Houston scored a game-high 34 points, and Latrell Sprewell added 24 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Larry Johnson joined them in double-figures with 16 points.

David Robinson led the Spurs with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and eventual Finals MVP Tim Duncan scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. The Spurs would defeat the Knicks in 5 games to claim their first ever NBA championship.
